Samsung Galaxy M56 has the confidence to take its place in the mid-range arena with the right mix of style and performance. This device has a sleek metal frame, a vibrant AMOLED display, and an enhanced Exynos chipset, and this is more premium than in its predecessors.

Samsung appears to have devised the M56 to fit this increasing need of power-efficient and feature-rich smart phones without exceeding the upper price limit of the premium smart phone segment. Whether you are a binge-watcher or an occasional gamer, it will deliver a stable daily experience with a twist.

In this review, I shall examine whether the Galaxy M56 actually delivers on its promise or it just rides on the M series legacy.

It was an experience of opening a carefully crafted mix of design and functionality in the form of Samsung galaxy M56. After gently sliding the sleek box, I spotted the phone on top and a strong USB-C cable, and a SIM-eject pin, proving to be neat as it ought to be.

This was completed by a Quick-Start guide and warranty card. As ever faithful to the new eco-friendly direction Samsung has taken, there is no charging brick. Very simple, no frills unbox, but all the essentials are well laid out.

Design & Build Quality

After opening the Galaxy M56, the first thing I thought was that it was a well-designed and thin phone that does not seem to match its medium cost. It was just 7.2 mm thick and weighed only 180 g yet it had the impression of being infinitely weightless yet solid in hand--at the time, Samsung had obviously paid much attention to ergonomics and comfort .

It has a glass-on-glass body with a premium feel with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and back. The smooth matte finish is non-fingerprint and the vertical pill camera module has a touch of metal elegance . I even threw it casually against a distance of 1.5m on tile and it survived with no damage as Samsung had boasted.

The frame is made of plastic that is light but strong enough to hold the antennas without freezing your hands or its shock absorbing feature is more than a rigid chassis could . The buttons have been ergonomically placed, and the SIM tray is clean.

Nevertheless, there is no perfect phone. Just as gorgeous as it is, the back-glass finish is also a little slippery and in case you often drop your phone, a thin TPU case is a must. Otherwise, the choice of retaining only one bottom-firing speaker is remarkable; it would have been nice to have stereo audio.

Display

When I received my Samsung Galaxy M56, I just had to touch the screen to feel how the text and videos on the 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ screen just slid smoothly under your finger due to the 120 Hz refresh rate. Colours are bright and the close to edge to edge panel (bezels 36 percent slimmer) draws you into engrossing scrolling or binge watching .

The middle-of-the-day sunshine was no match to the display Vision Booster and 1,200 nits peak brightness that kept everything sharp and readable under the open sun. The HDR films on Netflix were a pocket theater in my hand. Dark scenes were deeper and more dramatic because of punchy blacks of AMOLED technology.

Weak point? The refresh rate is also high, which consumes a little more power, but Samsung dynamic scaling ensures that it is controlled . Additionally, AMOLED flicker or PWM artifacts at low brightness is reported by some users though this is not universal, still, a thing to keep in mind in case you are sensitive in low-light conditions.

Even in day-to-day applications, whether it is in playing a game or just scrolling through your social network feed, the screen of the M56 always gives this feeling of a luxury add-on. Simply be ready to make brightness adjustments in case low-light comfort is of high priority.

Camera

When I grabbed the Galaxy M56, I felt like I was inside a mini studio to take photos. Its main sensor of 50 MP and Optical Image Stabilization caught my attention right away daylight shots are sharp, vivid, and bright. Nightography with the help of AI revived low-light situations, and I got clear street and evening portraits without too much noise.

The 8 MP ultra-wide camera produced good shots of vast sceneries, but some color discrepancy with the main cam was observed . The 2 MP macro was, as expected, rather playful than utilitarian, and enjoyed close-ups in perfect light but was soft most of the time.

Daylight Photo:

The 50 MP OIS sensor produces sharp, well-saturated photos with a high dynamic range in conditions of bright sunlight. The landscape and details of buildings are vivid- as promised by mid-range engaging performance. Reviewers of social media also recorded that performance in outdoor shots is really good, and skin tones are accurate.

Low-light Photo:

The Nightography seamlessly comes into effect: there is usable color and detail in low-light environments thanks to AI-enhanced multi-frame processing and Low‑Noise Mode. Nonetheless, other reviews warn that ultra-wide and macro lenses can be noisy and unsharp in the dark.

The 12 MP selfie camera on the front, which was sourced to Samsung flagship range, produced clear and sharp selfies and can record 4K video, which is ideal to content creators. Both the rear and front cameras support 4K HDR video at 30 frames per second but do not anticipate best-in-class stabilization that is smooth enough, although mediocre in longer shots when held in the hand.

Weak spots? The ultra-wide is not sharp in the low-light, and the macro is easily missed. Also, video stabilization is not the best-in-class as some rivals can stabilize the footage better.

In total, the Galaxy M56 offers a balanced camera package with excellent night and portrait capabilities. Simply curb hopes of ultra-wide precision and macro delicacy but on social media-friendly images and okay video recording, it is an attractive mid-range competitor.

Performance & Software

The Samsung Galaxy M56 was one that settled fast as a polished daily companion. The Exynos 1480 chipset (a 4nm chipset with 8 GB of LPDDR5X RAM), located beneath the hood, provides a clean power supply and quick responsiveness. The apps are immediately opened, and multitasking is smooth even with medium pressure.

Gaming-wise, games such as PUBG or BGMI run at 60fps and more demanding games such as Genshin Impact run well around 40fps. The vapor-chamber cooling is expanded and maintains performance without thermal throttling.

In the software department, the phone runs Android 15 and One UI 7, which is a refined and feature-rich experience. With six key OS updates and six years of security patch, this is a device to last. The additional security and usability are enhanced by features such as Now Bar, Auto Blocker, Gemini AI, and Samsung Knox Vault.

Nevertheless, it is not perfect. The Exynos 1480 is powerful, but does not have the raw power of newer processors, such as the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 or Exynos 1580, particularly in prolonged intensive tasks. Some users of One UI have complained on forums of lag or erratic animations, a reminder that that software polish is not always consistent across.

The Galaxy M56 is a reliable phone with current software features and long-term updates, but there is no denying that the best of the best silicon is still the best performer on top.

AnTuTu Benchmark & GeekBench Score

The first time I ran the AnTuTu 10 benchmark on the Galaxy M56, I was impressed: the phone got 713,000-733,000 points-and this is more than 80 percent of smartphones in the database of Kimovil. That divide at 247K CPU and 175K GPU means daily work is silky smooth, and games such as PUBG turn out to be fluid.

GeekBench 6 showed a single-core score of 1,145, and multi-core of 3,481. At actual usage it equates to quick applications startup and clear multitasking.

The catch, however, is that although the new phone has new features, it is a slight regression in terms of silicon as it has the older Exynos 1480 rather than the newer Exynos 1580 or Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 that the previous M55 had. During intense, prolonged game play the M56 loses a bit to its rivals with newer chips.

Battery & Charger

This smartphone is equipped with a large 5,000mAh battery which will keep it running throughout the day despite the 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ screen that works at 120Hz. Personally, I found it lasted all day with moderate to heavy use without any issue at all, such as video calls, GPS navigation, and media consumption. But the battery life would drain more quickly when we played longer and this is quite normal when you perform high-intensity activities.

Charging becomes faster with the 45W Super Fast Charge 2.0 which enables the device to be charged to 50 percent in about 30 minutes and to full charge in about 75 minutes. This fast charging feature is very useful to the people on the move.

One of the factors that stand out is that the charger does not come in the box implying that users will have to buy it. This is unlike in the earlier models where the charger was packaged and could thus be an addition to the total price.

To conclude, the Galaxy M56 has a stable battery, and the charging rate is high, which makes it a safe option and a convenient solution to users who need efficiency and a stable charging period.

Samsung Galaxy M56 Price in Bangladesh

When I first came across Samsung Galaxy M56 in Bangladesh I was shocked with the price. The Samsung Galaxy M56 price in Bangladesh is BDT 46,000 (Unofficial) for 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, whereas the 8GB+ 256GB one was BDT 50,000 (Unofficial). These prices placed the M56 into the middle ground, and the combination of performance and features appeared to be attractive at a glance.

But when I looked further at the specification of the device and compared it with the other devices in the same price range, I found myself doubting its worth. Although the M56 has a 6.74-inch Super AMOLED + display, a 50MP triple camera system, and a 5,000mAh battery, the use of the Exynos 1480 chipset left some to question whether it will perform well in the long run or be optimized for software.

Although Samsung Galaxy M56 is a good phone in terms of features, it could also be inappropriate in its price in the Bangladesh market as compared to other phones in the market with more competitive specs.

Final Word

Having had some good times with the Samsung Galaxy M56, it is evident that the phone has managed to strike a balance between minimalistic design, bright screen, and decent battery life. It is premium, but it does not encroach into flagships. The Exynos 1480 chipset however, drags it a notch behind the newer competitors. Nevertheless, with its blending of style, screen quality and long-term software support, the M56 remains a polished mid-range product that is worth a look among everyday users. Don t accept raw gaming muscle.
