Most of us have heard about smartwatches. Smartwatches can be connected to smartphones and then can be used for picking up calls, sending SMS etc. But what if you don’t need a smartphone to pick up calls, send SMS, even to take photos rather your smartwatch itself is your smartphone?
Yes, ZTE Nubia-α (Nubia Alpha) is the first smartphone of the world that you can wear in your hand. It means it is both a smartphone and a smartwatch at the same time. It has a camera, audio playing, calling, video calling, video recording, messaging options and flex OLED display slightly bigger than a regular smartwatch display. It can also count steps and monitor heart-rate through built-in sensors. However, the display is not as big as a smartphone display and there is no keypad as well. So, the question arises how are you going to type your SMS, perform Google or YouTube search? Well, it can be that for these kinds of tasks only voice command is allowed. There is no information about it yet.
Also, we don’t know if the device will run on regular Android version and if the play store apps can be used or not. Gaming and watching videos on such a device is also not that practical. GPS and Google Maps can also be limited. You may not lose it easily if you wear it in hand. But it can be damaged much easier. So, is there something like a gorilla glass protection and waterproof technology? How good is the camera? What will be the price? Well, we have many questions, but for now, we only know for sure that it will work like a wearable smartphone and Nubia Alpha will be released in Q4 2018 in the market.
