On 17th July 2018, globally recognized and popular Chinese brand Xiaomi officially entered the Bangladeshi market as a brand. They were already operating the business in Bangladesh since August 2016 via local authorized dealer Solar Electro BD. But from now on, Xiaomi took the business in their hand and hoping to build a strong local team under their own strategy and leadership.
To make their launch remarkable, Xiaomi announced the release of Redmi S2 in Bangladesh with highly attractive features and pricing. This smart move will definitely gain a lot of consumer attention and push Xiaomi to their vision of becoming the number one smartphone brand in Bangladesh.
Xiaomi is already a famous brand in Bangladesh since 2016 through their local authorized partner. In 2017, Xiaomi became one of the top 5 favorite brands of Bangladesh. The popularity has been increasing in the first half of 2018 as well. Now, this event is telling us that, they want to reach the top position in the Bangladeshi market in the long run. They have also mentioned that through their direct business operation, Bangladeshi consumers will get Xiaomi phones at the international market price. It is challenging since the import tax for smartphones is way too higher (even higher than India). But because of their current business model, they will be able to cut some costs and manage the international rate in Bangladesh.
