WE Mobile started its professional journey in Bangladesh in the year 2017. It is a Bangladesh based company and a sister concern of Aamra Companies. Aamra is a group of companies that are running businesses in IT, textile, outsourcing and professional development sector. As an expansion of their IT business, they started WE mobile brand in Bangladesh. WE Mobile primarily targets the low and low-mid budget consumers. Their phones are manufactured in China and are currently sold only in Bangladesh. They have already established a good amount of brand stores and retail outlets all around the country. The brand came to great public attention after releasing WE T1 through Grameenphone. WE T1 is a 4G smartphone with decent features and costs 4,444 Tk. at its releasing time in February 2017. WE is a unique and special Bangladeshi brand for two reasons. First of all, they are providing 25 GB to 100 GB free cloud storage where you can store your files, photos, audios, videos and other media files. This cloud storage is based in Bangladesh, therefore uploading and downloading is much faster than for example Google Drive. The built-in "WE Player" can play audio or video files directly in the cloud. But of course, if you are playing, uploading or downloading files from the cloud and connected to a mobile data service, it will cost you some minimum amount of data. But up to 100 GB free space is a big deal and since you are storing your files outside of your smartphone's own memory, it will increase the durability and keep the speed of your phone over a longer period of time. The second thing that makes WE special is its free WiFi Zones around Bangladesh. As mentioned, WE is a sister concern of Ammra company and they also have data solutions for mobile operators. Under this business, they have WiFi zones in train stations, shopping malls, restaurants and many other different public places around Bangladesh. If you have a WE smartphone, you can use the internet and data for free as long and as much you want if you are connected to one of their WiFi zones. In the past few years', many new smartphone brands were born but went out of operation or couldn't continue regular business because of the nature of this competitive market. If WE can continue growing its business and customers until the end of 2020, they may have a strong future in Bangladeshi mobile market.
