Vivo is a Chinese Android smartphone manufacturer founded in 2009. Vivo is owned by Chinese Multinational company BBK Electronics which is also the owner of another popular Chinese brand Oppo. Vivo started to expand its market outside China since 2014 and currently, they have operations in over 100 countries.

In 2017, Vivo was the 5th largest smartphone vendor in the world with 100.7 million total shipments and a huge 36% growth rate comparing to the previous year. Vivo in Bangladesh
Vivo started its Bangladesh journey in December 2017. There was no real press coverage. But their new Facebook Bangladesh page started to receive instant likes and reached a massive amount of audience within the next few months. Vivo started their journey with four phones Vivo Y53, Y65, V7, and V7+. They primarily established their showrooms and authorized dealers in Dhaka, Chittagong, Barisal, Bhola, Faridpur, Narayanganj, Mymensingh, Rangpur, and Sylhet. Because of the popularity of major Chinese brands like Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo, traditional famous Bangladeshi companies like Symphony and Walton lost a significant amount of market share in 2017 (source: futurestartup).
