It's equipped with a large 6.83-inch AMOLED display, a massive 8,340mAh battery and the IP68/IP69K rating for dust and water resistance which is uncommon at this price. It runs on Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and 8GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage.

On the camera end, there's a 50MP primary lens and 8MP ultrawide. This review will discuss the display, performance, camera, and battery life, and tell you whether or not this phone is worth your money.

An In-Depth Review on Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro

Designed for everyday users, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro is engineered for extended battery life, high-resolution screens, and robust build quality at an affordable price. It is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, has a large 8,340mAh battery and has a bright display with 120Hz refresh rate and IP68/IP69K waterproof rating. This review will discuss its design, display, performance, camera, battery life, pricing in Bangladesh, and overall value to the average user and budget-conscious shoppers.

Box Content

This is what you get inside the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro box:

  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro Smartphone
  • 67W fast charger
  • USB Type-C cable
  • Protective case
  • SIM ejector tool
  • User manual

The Redmi Note 17 Pro is packaged in a straightforward box, which contains the phone, a 67W rapid charger, a USB Type-C cable, SIM ejector tool, basic protective case, and a quick begin guide and guarantee card. No earphones included, which is standard these days for phones this price.

Design & Build Quality

The Redmi Note 17 Pro isn't going for a slimmest phone on the market and that's a positive. The 8.6mm thick, 223 gram phone has a certain weight to it, which means it will last longer than just being pretty in photos. Measuring 163.45mm tall and 78.27mm wide, it fits nicely in most hands, but might be a bit large for anybody with smaller hands.

The rear is plastic instead of glass. You might think that's a downgrade, but it's a good trade-off here. Plastic is easier to handle, less prone to damage when dropped, and does not leave fingerprint smudges like glass does.

It also helps to make the phone tough enough to warrant its IP68 and IP69K ratings, which is one of the highest protection ratings offered at this price. This translates to the phone can be splashed, dropped in water up to 1.5m for 30 minutes and even resist high-pressure water spray and dust. This will be a very comforting thing for anyone that has ever panicked over water splashing close to their phone.

Solid color is also good, four colors available: Black, Purple, Sky Blue, Satin Orange. Whether you're looking for something traditional and simple or just a little bit funky, there's something for everyone here.

In general, it is more substantial than the price. Xiaomi obviously made a conscious decision to sacrifice style for substance here and for a device that will be on the go every day, that's a pretty reasonable compromise.

Display

The Redmi Note 17 Pro really shines on the screen. It has a big 6.83" AMOLED display and AMOLED technology is a good indicator, it gives deep blacks, punchy colours and greater contrast than the very basic LCD screen on the cheaper phones.

It has a resolution of 1280x2772 pixels (FHD+) with a pixel density of 447 PPI. This isn't a QHD panel, but text remains crisp, images sharp and no graininess is apparent in regular use. The screen-to-body ratio is an impressive 89.5% and the punch-hole cutout for the front camera is small, so the display looks great with hardly any wasted space around the edges.

The 120Hz refresh rate also makes scrolling and animation smooth. Everything is responsive and seamless, whether you're looking at social media, a feed or playing a casual game.

The real show-stopper is brightness, with a maximum of 3500 nits. That's flagship level brightness and it does make a difference outdoors. The screen remains easy to read, even in bright sunlight, without the need to place your hand in front of the screen.

The durability is also covered by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, one of the strongest glass currently available. It also provides good scratch and drop resistance, invaluable for a screen this size.

This display is well worth the money, overall. From the AMOLED panel, high brightness, smooth refresh rate to strong glass protection, it is certainly one of the best reasons to consider this phone.

Camera

The Redmi Note 17 Pro has a dual rear camera setup, omitting the usual macro or depth sensors that bring very few benefits. The 50MP sensor is f/1.8, and it has Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) which is a nice little extra feature; it stabilizes the sensor to minimise the effects of shaky hands, particularly in photos and video, which is an excellent addition at this price. It's paired up with an 8MP super-wide camera that has an f/2.2 aperture, which is ideal for taking in more of the scene when the occasion calls for it, such as landscapes or group portraits.

Fast and reliable autofocus with LED flash in low-light conditions. It also comes with some of the camera's manual settings, including exposure compensation and ISO adjustment, which provide more hands-on camera users with some room to tweak the shots beyond the automatic mode. On the features end, there is HDR, Portrait mode, Panorama, Pro mode, Ultra HD mode, and even an Underwater mode which adds an extra bit of value to the phone's IP68/IP69K water resistance.

The photos are taken at 8150 x 6150 resolution at the most, and on zoom, it is only digital zoom so quality will be reduced with greater zoom levels but there is no dedicated telephoto lens here.

Daylight Photo:.

With the hardware specifications, it's a 50MP sensor with OIS and wide f/1.8 aperture, and with this type of sensor and stabilization combination, one should expect sharp, well-exposed, and detailed photos in bright conditions, as is the norm for phones of this caliber.

Low-light Photo:

The OIS will help keep the camera steady in low light situations, while the f/1.8 lens opening will allow more light on the camera than a smaller lens. But with no dedicated night mode equipment or a bigger sensor, you can still hear the noise and the images will be less pronounced in the deepest of darkness, as is often the case at this price.

The 16MP selfie camera (f/2.4) is good for regular selfies and video calls, and is also capable of 1080p/30fps video

.

The video can be recorded at a maximum of 1080p (Full HD) with 30 frames per second (fps). This is an obvious constraint. At the core of the midrange in 2026, most phones are now 4K or better. The Note 17 Pro doesn't match up with the Note 15 Pro in terms of video quality, however.

Performance & Software

Redmi Note 17 Pro's under the hood is powered by the 4nm fabricated Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset. That's a positive indication as it is usually a smaller size manufacturing and implies that the phone will be cooler as well as use less of the battery in normal use.

The processor is an octa-core chip that includes four 2.4GHz Cortex-A78 processors that are good for power-hungry tasks and four 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 for lighter everyday tasks such as messaging or browsing. This combination is good for a balance of speed and battery life, but here's a disclaimer: The Cortex-A78 cores are not the newest – they're a couple generations back now. The Adreno 710 GPU supports smooth scrolling, normal multitasking, and casual gaming, but lacks the power to handle high-resolution, graphically demanding games.

This chipset is being marketed directly to consumers, in real-world terms. The browsing, social media, streaming, and light multitasking will all run smoothly and responsively. The term "Pro" will probably raise expectations which may not be met here as gamers or power users who are seeking “flagship” speed will find it somewhat restricted here.

The software is powered by Android 16 and topped with HyperOS 3 from Xiaomi. HyperOS 3 provides a modern and clean interface with some useful customization options, while using the latest version of Android means that you automatically get the latest features and security.

Overall, it's good and reliable for everyday use, though it's a pretty good compromise for the price and power-hungry design, which prioritizes the battery.

Battery & Charger

The battery is a standout feature of the Redmi Note 17 Pro. With many flagships running around with 4,500-5,500mAh, Xiaomi has stuffed in a monstrous 8,340mAh Lithium-Ion battery. During the day, this should easily sustain you for a full day, and sometimes well into a second, even with lots of screen time, gaming or streaming.

The charging is done through 67W wired fast charging with PD3.0 support, and Xiaomi claimed that it can charge 50% up to 34 minutes. This is a pretty good speed for an electric vehicle with a large battery, and in an hour, you will not be waiting hours to fill your battery.

A nice touch is the 22.5W reverse wired charging, allowing you to charge other small devices directly from this phone. It's a handy feature for travel or emergencies.

This is as expected on modern phones where the battery is non-removable and charging is done via the standard Type-C 2.0 port. Battery life is without doubt one of the best features of this phone.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro Price in Bangladesh

Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro has officially launched in Bangladesh for ৳54,999 for 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. This is a very competitive price point for the upper-mid-range where consumers tend to demand a solid all-round offering. The massive battery, bright AMOLED display and IP68/IP69K protection makes it pricey, but not too pricey, as the mid range processor used is what is driving the cost over that of performance.

Final Word

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro isn't a phone looking to win any benchmark battles but it's designed to help those who want one that just lasts. It has a large battery capacity, a vivid screen and is waterproof to IP68/IP69K which makes it perfect for everyday use. The middle-range chipset and video that's limited to 1080p is a trade-off, however, if battery life and durability are more important than raw power, this phone is a good value for the money.
