Xiaomi 15s Pro unboxing felt like unboxing a premium experience. The black box was sleek, black, sophisticated and it set the tone for what was inside. Lifting the lid I had the device itself, safely cradled and wrapped in protective film. To make good use of the 90W power capability, Xiaomi kindly put a 90W HyperCharge adapter beneath it, enabling superfast charging from day one. 

The charger came with a USB Type C cable, a SIM ejector tool and a clear silicone protective case, all practical things many other competitors now leave out. Along with the user manual, the warranty information completed the ensemble. This whole package is not only a reflection of Xiaomi’s dedication to user convenience but also plays a role in improving the whole unboxing experience.

Design & Build Quality

First thing catching my eye of the Xiaomi 15s Pro was its refined aesthetics and honest build. With super thin bezels at 1.09mm, ultra quad curved 6.73 inch AMOLED display is the highlight of the device. Available in both ceramic and vegan leather finishes the back panel adds a touch of elegance and also helps to provide a comfortable grip. 

It is made from aviation grade aluminum to give the phone the additional durability without making it too heavy. The 15s Pro weighs 216 grams and is 8.3mm thick which makes for a device that is substantial enough in hand, but not too overwhelming. And it is also IP68 rated for dust and water ingress.

The triple 50MP Leica engineered camera setup is housed in a rear camera module, but the LED flash has been repositioned outside the module. This alteration not only improves the appearance of the device, but also allows for the device to accommodate a laser autofocus system.

Of course, the design does have its drawbacks though. The device is also reported to be bulkier than expected, despite its size. In addition, the device becomes noticeably warm during intensive tasks, a sign of thermal management problems. 

Xiaomi 15s Pro is a really well made phone and that's worthy of the premium price tag. There are of course small downsides in its heft and heat dissipation, but these are minor trade offs for a device that oozes sophistication and durability.

Display

The first thing I noticed about the Xiaomi 15s Pro was its display which from the moment I turned it on felt brilliant and responsive. The crisp 1440 x 3200 resolution LTPO AMOLED panel measures in at 6.73 inches to deliver about 522 pixels per inch. The result is sharp text and vibrant images and everything from reading articles to watching videos is a visual treat. 

One of the things that stand out about it is that it has an adaptive refresh rate that goes up to 120Hz, but can also go as slow as 1Hz. Besides the battery, this also helps to smooth the scrolling and animations, as well as to save battery in cut off refresh rate depending on the displayed content.

The 15s Pro shines in brightness, as well. The screen is designed with peak brightness up to 3200 nits which means it is still readable even in direct sunlight, making it a more useful screen in various lighting conditions. 

HDR10+ and Dolby Vision supported a wide dynamic range and rich colors display. When watching photos or streaming high definition content, colors are bright and life-like.

But it’s worth pointing out that some users have reported eye strain with the display as a result of its PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) dimming. The 15s Pro uses high frequency PWM at 2160Hz which is usually safe, but if you are sensitive to screen flickering you may still feel uncomfortable. 

Overall, the Xiaomi 15s Pro’s display is a very sharp, bright and color accurate display and one that should satisfy the more discerning buyer in the flagship smartphone space. However, those with screen flickering sensitivity should keep this fact in mind before buying.

Camera

The Xiaomi 15s Pro.Forms camera system was a very interesting thing to explore. With a triple 50MP rear camera setup co-engineered with Leica, the device includes a 50MP wide-angle lens (f/1.4, 23mm), a 50MP periscope telephoto lens (f/2.5, 120mm, 5x optical zoom) and a 50MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.2, 14mm, 115° field of view). 

Together they produce an incredibly versatile and image quality that can be used in many different situations. It also houses a high quality 32MP front camera (f/2.0, 22mm) capable of taking up to 1080p video at 30/60fps .

Daylight Photo:

The Leica collaboration results in the main sensor capturing images in daylight with beautiful detail, dynamic range and color accuracy. The ultra wide lens provides expansive views without the distortion normally associated with such lenses and the periscope telephoto lens captures crisp shots at distance.

Low-light Photo:

Although video stabilization seems to be a problem for some users, especially when recording while in motion or in low light, resulting in visible stutter . On the downside, Pro mode still doesn’t feature native 24fps recording, but third party apps like MotionCam Pro could be a workaround.

The main camera is impressive and offers 8K recording at 24/30fps and 4K at 24/30/60fps with HDR10+, Dolby Vision and 10 bit LOG supported. In addition to 1080p up to 960fps slow motion and 720p up to 1920fps, the device also provides gyro-EIS for stabilization.

Finally, the camera system on the Xiaomi 15s Pro is the best we’ve seen on a Xiaomi phone, boasting versatility and quality. Its video capabilities are very good, but it’s not as good as the competition when it comes to stabilization and frame rate selection for professional videographers.

Performance & Software

The Xiaomi 15s Pro feels like flagship grade performance from the moment I powered it on. The heart of this prowess is Xiaomi's first in house chipset, the Xring O1. This 10 core CPU is built on a second generation 3nm process and includes two Arm Cortex X925 cores clocked at 3.9GHz, for exceptional speed and efficiency. With a 16 core Immortalis GPU, the device can effortlessly juggle high end gaming, multitasking and such, achieving an AnTuTu score well over 3 million.

The software experience, running on HyperOS 2 built atop Android 15, is both innovative and intuitive. The new kernel, HyperCore, optimizes task scheduling and memory management and reduces CPU idle time by 19% . It leads to faster app launch and smoother transitions. Notably, the AI integration provides real time voice transcription, AI generated wallpapers and dynamic lock screens for your phone.

But the software isn’t all smooth sailing. According to some users, they’ve had problems with delayed notifications and aggressive background app management, resulting in missed alerts . Also, some UI elements and settings layouts have been described as unintuitive and a new user has to get used to it.

All in all, the 15s Pro gives Xiaomi’s top flight users a stellar performance, thanks to its cutting edge hardware and feature rich software. HyperOS 2 brings with it many enhancements, but there is still more work to be done in order to make it as smooth and consistent as possible based on user feedback.

AnTuTu Benchmark & GeekBench Score

Impressive performance metrics were seen when I ran the Xiaomi 15s Pro through its paces. The device scored a whopping 26,21,969 on AnTuTu benchmark v10 which puts it among the top performing smartphones, outperforming a number of its competitors in the class.

Moving to Geekbench 6, the 15s Pro still looked strong. The single core score was 3,068 and the multi core score was 9,519. 

The benchmark results highlighted the Xiaomi 15s Pro’s incredible performance and demonstrates it as a powerful and efficient smartphone for users.

Battery & Charger

The battery performance of Xiaomi 15s Pro has already stood out from the moment I powered on. With its 6,100mAh silicon carbon battery, I had no issues powering through my day without any sweat, having to do browsing, streaming and gaming. It still had plenty of battery life left after extended use and I found it to be efficient. 

The device was equally impressive to charge. When using the included 90W wired charger, the battery actually took just under 53 minutes to reach 100%. After the initial 10 minutes alone, the batter was up to 37% which was perfect for quick top ups before heading out. The 50W wireless charging option was also a nice touch when you’re in a rush and can’t plug in.

That said, the device itself would warm up during intensive gaming sessions. It wasn't uncomfortable, but it's one to be aware of while using for a while.

Bottom line, the Xiaomi 15s Pro has battery life and charging capabilities that far exceeded what I was expecting and it gave me the longevity and speed I need to keep up with my hectic lifestyle.

On the pricing front, it’s well positioned for a high end smartphone market with a combination of bleeding edge technology and value.

The 15s Pro packs a top tier experience considering its cutting edge Xring O1 chipset, great 6.73 inch LTPO AMOLED display and Leica engineered triple camera system. Tech freaks in Bangladesh would find very few devices as compelling as the Xiaomi 15s Pro when it comes to a blend of performance, design and innovation.

Final Word

The Xiaomi 15s Pro is built for power users who want nothing but innovation and after spending some quality time with the phone, it’s apparent. From the oohs and ahhs at the display to the blazing fast Xring O1 chip, it’s all premium. The camera system is beautiful and the battery happily lasts a day. All in all, though, it can get a little warm during intense gaming and a few software quirks need a little polish. But it's a big enough step from Xiaomi and one that really blew me away.
