The minimalist packaging of Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was when I unboxed it. Besides that, there’s the phone itself, a USB-C to USB-C cable, a SIM ejector tool and a quick start guide. Unlike before, it doesn’t come with a charging brick, like Samsung is following the trend. And the packaging is 100% recycled paper, showing how important sustainability is to Samsung. The unboxing experience was pretty easy which is fitting for the device's sleek and eco friendly design.
Design & Build Quality
First, is the ultra slim profile of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge (5.8mm thin and just 163g). It felt like a look into the future of smartphone design, holding it. Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and titanium frame not only give it a premium feel, but also make it very durable .
The display is stunning, 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X. As a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,600 nits peak brightness screen, everything seemed incredibly smooth and vibrant when scrolling through apps or even just watching videos .
What I liked most though, was how Samsung managed to retain such a sleek design without sacrificing build quality. The construction of every aspect of the phone is made with attention to detail and the phone feels solid in hand.
But there are a few tradeoffs that accompany the slim design. A smaller 3,900mAh battery means reduced thickness and in my experience I had to charge it more often than other models .
All in all, the Galaxy S25 Edge is a good mix of beauty and performance. This device is right up there as a top contender if that's your thing.
Display
The first thing that caught my eye about the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is its display. It has a 6.7 inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display with a full HD resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels, a pixel density of roughly 513 ppi. It comes with a 120Hz refresh rate so your scrolling and animations are smooth and fluid.
The display is HDR10+ supported and has a peak brightness of 2600 nits which means it delivers vibrant colors and deep contrasts for delightful media consumption and gaming. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 offers protection against scratches and minor drops and covers the screen.

Sharp and vibrant selfies are guaranteed by the front facing 12MP camera. The AI powered Samsung ProVisual Engine optimizes color reproduction and detail for lifelike images. The Nightography feature brightens up and minimizes noise in low light conditions for great nighttime shots.

In bright conditions the main 200MP sensor delivers images with great detail and lively colors. With a 12MP ultra wide lens, the perspective is broader and still sharp all over the frame. Samsung's ProVisual Engine is AI driven which enables the camera to enhance color accuracy and provide realistic and lively pictures. Digital zoom up to 10x is surprisingly clear, even without a dedicated telephoto lens, but at maximum zoom detail is lost.

And the Galaxy S25 Edge is still impressive at night. The Nightography feature with AI enhancements brightens scenes without overexposure. Detail in images is retained and there is minimal noise, even in challenging lighting. The ultra wide lens works very well, taking large expansive scenes with consistent quality. It may not be low light hero like the S25 Ultra but the S25 Edge performs well enough and is reliable for nighttime photography.
On the video front, the Galaxy S25 Edge records 8K video at 30fps and 4K at 120fps which is a perfect fit for both casual users and content creators. What is noteworthy is that it enables logging of log format both on front and rear camera which makes post production editing more flexible. It has Super Steady mode for smooth footage even at dynamic movement.
The camera system is really good in many areas, but it doesn't have a dedicated telephoto lens and makes do with digital zoom. Image quality may be limited by this when zooming in on distant subjects.
The Galaxy S25 Edge camera setup is robust, providing high-resolution photography alongside advanced video features which will suffice most users.
Performance & Software
In a refreshingly svelte design, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge provides flagship level performance.
The S25 Edge is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and 12GB of RAM, making it a multitasking and demanding application powerhouse. It streams high definition videos, plays graphic intensive games and switches between apps without any lag. To manage heat effectively Samsung has incorporated an advanced vapor chamber cooling system to prevent throttling and ensure consistent performance during prolonged usage.
It runs Android 15 with Samsung's One UI 7 which is a user friendly and customizable interface. Which provides personalized summaries, is among the AI powered features it offers, as well as Enhance-X to intelligently edit photos. If the ultra thin design of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is undeniably sexy, it comes with too high a price: the battery life. It has a smaller capacity of 3,900mAh battery, smaller than what its S25 siblings offer which can be verified in daily use.
The device, in my experience, does not last a full day even when used moderately: a midday recharge being the norm. According to Samsung, the S21 Ultra is good for up to 24 hours of video playback, but real world usage, like web browsing and app usage isn't quite that long. Charging is supported by 25W wired and 15W wireless, though the 25W charger does not come in the box.
I tested the battery using Samsung's official adapter and the battery went from 59% to 54% in 30 minutes. S25 Edge is a brilliant phone in the design and display department, but it’s not the best for heavy users. Those looking for endurance might find the S25 Plus or Ultra with their bigger batteries and quicker charge times make more sense.
