Inside the box, I found the smartphone lying on the top of the box in a neatly arranged manner and it was covered with a plastic cover. Below that, there was a compact box that held a silicone case, SIM card removal tool, and some literature. 

Moreover, the package came with a 45W fast charger and a USB Type C cable. The inclusion of these accessories is appealing to the buyer and useful, primarily the fast charger and protective case, to make sure that the user is ready to go from the get-go.

Design & Build Quality

Realme P3 is the blend of beauty and toughness or can be said that it is a perfect balance between design and protection. Its thickness is 7.97mm and the weight is 194g, it will not have a huge hand feel but is comfortable to use.​

Another feature I would like to highlight is its peak brightness of 2000 nits, which ensures that the screen content is quite visible even during the day. This makes outdoor use convenient whenever you are browsing, streaming videos, or even gaming.

The device also supports HDR content so that the brightness and contrast are higher and the color range is doubled which is good for HDR content. Moreover, the 1500Hz touch sampling rate means faster recognition of touch inputs for the sake of gaming as well as other touch operations. ​

The display is characterized by brightness, a high refresh rate, and responsiveness of the screen’s touch inputs, which are characteristic of more expensive devices. It is one of the phone’s major advantages, given the price range of the device.

Camera

In low-light conditions, the camera's performance declines. The images seem to be less crisp and detailed and noisier in comparison to their original versions. The front camera is not impressive and takes low quality pictures in low light conditions. The absence of the Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) also impacts low light photography, especially because it is difficult to take clear pictures without steadiness of hands.

The 16MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture is sufficient to take good selfies in well-lit conditions. The skin tones look quite realistic, and the portrait mode is satisfactory in terms of the subject’s outline. Nevertheless, selfies taken with low lighting appear to be blurry and grainy. The front camera is capable of capturing videos at 1080p 30fps which is good for video calls and some YouTubing.​

In terms of video, the main camera has the capacity to record 4K videos at 30 fps and 1080p at 30/60/120fps with the help of gyro-EIS stabilization. I realized that 4K videos are clear, but there is a problem with stabilization as it is not so effective in this case. At 1080p, particularly 60fps, the videos are less choppy, but there is a small decline in the resolution.​

All in all, it is possible to conclude that the Realme P3 has a decent camera system for everyday use and capturing videos and photos. It is not a cutting-edge smartphone but for those who are looking for an affordable smartphone with acceptable camera performance, it suffices.

Performance & Software

The Realme P3 is equipped with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip that is based on the 4nm process. This octa-core processor along with Adreno 810 GPU is designed to provide optimum speed for regular usage as well as gaming. As for multitasking, I did not encounter any issues, and app opening was fast. It was able to handle games such as BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile without any hitches and stuttering issues.

​In terms of software, the Realme P3 comes with Realme UI 6.0 which is based on Android 15. The interface is relatively simple and smooth; the functions like RAM Vitalization and ROM Vitalization make multitasking and storage a lot easier. However, the device has the Realme Glance, Hot Apps, and Hot Games applications, which are already installed on the device. These can be uninstalled or disabled, but they do appear at the start and add some confusion. ​

Realme also offers two years of OS updates and three years of security patches for the P3 which indicates that the phone will be updated for a long time. ​Realme P3 has powerful performance and rich built-in software features, so it can be regarded as a worthy competitor in the mid-range segment.

However, it should be mentioned that given the large battery capacity, the real-life battery life might not be considerably higher than in the competition with smaller batteries. In the controlled test, the battery power was exhausted up to 22% in two hours of heavy usage which is equivalent to some of the 5000mAh battery phones. ​
