An In-Depth Review on OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra

In a world of constant market shifts, rapid innovations and everchanging trends, OnePlus still manages to hit the sweet spot between high end performance and latest features at a price that’s competitive. Latest in the brand’s premium flagship-range segment, the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra is getting a lot of buzz with its powerhouse specs, refined design and some user focused improvements.

So, after spending enough time with this device, I figured out what works, what could use some improvement and why it might be the next big thing in your pocket. In this in depth review, here’s a complete breakdown and the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra price in Bangladesh.

Box Content

This is what you get inside the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra box:

  • OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra Smartphone
  • 100W Charger
  • USB Type-C cable
  • Silicone case
  • User manual
  • SIM tool

Unboxing the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra was a good experience. The device sits inside the packaging and the packaging itself gives a premium feel. I also received a 100W fast charger, a red USB C cable (distinctive), a translucent protective case, a SIM ejector tool and user manuals. One of the most notable inclusions is that OnePlus still includes basic accessories, like the fast charger and protective case which are things many brands have started cutting out.

The thoughtful inclusion of a library increases the user’s overall experience by allowing them to use it right away without buying another purchase. OnePlus has always been meticulous about packaging and the included accessories which are a reflection of this commitment to user satisfaction.

Design & Build Quality

When I first unboxed the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra I was drawn in by how refined and solidly built the phone looked. The device features a flat 6.83 inch LTPO AMOLED display with ultra narrow bezels that measure 1.36mm on the sides, 1.49mm at the top and 1.94mm at the bottom which is meant to provide an immersive viewing experience with none of the common problems of curved screens.

In terms of elegance, the back panel (in glass and ceramic finish) is excellent. But the ceramic variant, in particular, not only gives a premium feel but improves durability. The right angle aluminum edges make for a very sturdy grip and the beveled edges are subtle but very nice for ergonomics when using the keyboard for long periods.

Still present is OnePlus’ signature three stage alert slider which I find very handy for switching between sound profiles in a hurry. Just over 206g, the device is well balanced, making you forget you are holding it after a long use. As a downside, its size may make one handed operation a little difficult, however, for users with smaller hands.

A minor downside is that there is no official IP65 rating for water and dust resistance. This isn’t necessarily a deal breaker, but certainly worth noting as some competitors can provide similar durability at similar price points.

In short, OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra is a great looking phone with premium materials and thoughtful ergonomics which makes it stand out in its price category.

Display

As soon as I powered up the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra, its 6.83in LTPO AMOLED display drew me in. With a resolution of 1.5K (1272 x 2800 pixels) the screen is super crisp and images and text are sharp and vibrant. The pixel density of 450 ppi yields impressively clear details.

With its 120Hz refresh rate, the display feels buttery smooth when scrolling and animations are buttery smooth as well. In apps or games, the responsiveness is top notch. Battery efficiency is also contributed to by the adaptive refresh rate which adjusts according to the content being shown.

Another standout is brightness. The screen has a peak brightness of 1400 nits which makes it easy to read even under direct sunlight. This means you can use it hassle free outside for emails or watching videos.

HDR10+ support and wide color gamut mean color reproduction is rich and accurate. Streaming HDR content is a treat and it makes the viewing experience so much deeper in blacks and so much richer in colors.

But there is no display without its quirks. The high brightness is great, but it sometimes can cause slight color shifts at extreme viewing angles. Also, the screen is very large which is great for media consumption, but might make one handed use a little difficult for some users.

In a nutshell, the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra's display provides a premium visual experience, with sharp resolution, smooth performance and outstanding brightness. Beyond minor quirks, it is a screen that improves every interaction.

Camera

The camera setup on the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra was the first thing I noticed when I picked it up for the first time. Having a dual camera system with a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra wide lens I was interested in how this mix would work in the real world.

Daylight Photography:

The main 50MP sensor really shines starting with daylight photography. The images are sharp, vibrant and full of detail. But colors are not oversaturated and colors look natural, but not too natural for everyday snaps. Autofocus is quick and reliable, I rarely missed a shot. An ultra wide lens is quite useful when I need to take wider landscapes or group photos. Images sometimes lose some sharpness at the edges, a common compromise with ultra wides, but it gives a super wide field of view with very little distortion. While there is a macro sensor, it is more of a novelty than anything, able to take basic close ups but not with the detail of the main or ultra wide lenses.

Low-Light Performance:

In low light the experience is mixed. Software optimization is able to pull in enough light with the main sensor to make usable photos, but if you look closely you’ll see some grain and softness. The ultra wide and macro lenses however, have a much harder time in dim environments, images can be noisy and lack clarity. But night mode helps but doesn’t get rid of these faults.

As far as video goes, the Ace 5 Ultra can record up to 4K at 30 or 60 frames per second or 1080p at 240fps for slow motion. The video stabilization was incredibly smooth even when recording handheld while walking or moving quickly. The colors are vibrant on video as well which is a great thing for content creators or casual shooters.

The 16MP front camera takes great selfies, with a crisp, sharp image and nice skin tones. The light is good with indoor and outdoor lighting and it occasionally has trouble with complex lighting such as backlit scenes.

The weak point of the camera system is that it doesn't have a telephoto lens which translates into no optical zoom. It does have digital zoom but, not unexpectedly, this results in loss of detail.

On the whole, the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra’s cameras are a versatile and fun device to shoot with, particularly those looking for crisp daylight shots and smooth video. Low light and zoom performance aren't flagship level, but they're good enough for the price and this is an all round solid device for everyday photography and video.

Performance & Software

The first time I powered on the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra its performance prowess was undeniable. The device, which comes equipped with Mediatek Dimensity 9400 Plus chipset (16GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage), handled multitasking, gaming and daily tasks with ease. Apps launched quickly and transitions were butter smooth which are the hardware's capabilities.

The Ace 5 Ultra highlight was gaming. I played games like "Genshin Impact" and "Peace Elite," without giving the slightest care about frame drops at high settings. A really cool advanced cooling system kept the device cool even during long gaming sessions which made the whole gaming experience even more enjoyable.

As software, it runs Android 15 with ColorOS 15. It is an intuitive interface with a mix of customization options and user friendly features. Also worth noting is how the "Share with iPhone" feature allowed for easy transfers of files between devices which was great for people in mixed ecosystems.

But the software has its quirks. Aggressive background app management has been reported by some users causing apps to be unexpectedly closed while multitasking. Moreover, some may be turned off by the pre-installed apps or bloatware that comes on these devices. Many of these apps can be uninstalled, but their presence to begin with sullies what is otherwise a polished software environment.

OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra provides top class performance and a very feature rich software experience. There are some areas to improve, especially in software optimization, but the device can compete with its segment.

AnTuTu Benchmark & GeekBench Score

After running the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra through a benchmark test, it managed to impress me. In AnTuTu v10, the smartphone scored mind blowing 2820547 points on AnTuTu benchmark v10 which puts the device in the top smartphone performers.

When switched to Geekbench 6, the Ace 5 Ultra impressed yet again with single core score of 2,677 and multi core score of 8,564. These are the figures of MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset that pack the performance with efficient architecture and high clock speed for the best performance.

These benchmark scores equate to smooth multitasking, quick app launching and smooth gaming in real world usage. It is capable of handling demanding applications with ease and there will be no hitches on any front with it.

But what is worth noting about the Ace 5 Ultra is that it performs extremely well but sustained heavy use can cause noticeable heat buildup. This is typical thermal behavior for high performance devices and it may lead to a bit of performance throttling during longer intensive tasks.

All in all, the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra was a completely powerful device and the benchmark results do reflect the real world performance capabilities of the device.

Battery & Charger

OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra battery performance was so stand out that it started even from the moment I unboxed it. This device has an ample 6,700mAh silicon-carbon (Si/C) Li-Ion battery to aid in all day heavy usage.

Charging is equally as impressive. They also include a 100W SuperVOOC charger which can top the battery up from 0% to 100% in only 39 minutes. I found that a quick 10 minute charge gave me around 3 hours of gaming, so it’s very much a mobile gamers dream.

In addition to that, the device has a bypass charging function which enables it to directly draw power from the charger when it is performing a heavy duty task such as gaming. It does not only reduce the heat generation but also helps to save battery life for a long period of time.

It also doesn’t have wireless charging, however. On the positive side, the wired charging is amazingly quick, but, no wireless charging could be a downside for some users who want the convenience of a cableless top up.

OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra Price in Bangladesh

On first glance with the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra, the combination of high end features and sleek design grabbed me from the start. There are as many as 3 variants for this phone.

The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra price in Bangladesh is BDT 62,000 (Unofficial) with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of phone storage. This is a competitive variant that offers flagship performance.

The 12GB RAM + 512GB Storage variant of the device comes for BDT 58,000 (Unofficial), providing increased multitasking capability and plenty of storage space.

Its top of the line variant is priced at BDT65,000, with 16GB RAM + 512GB Storage to make sure that you are not running out of space for anything.

From one variant of the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra to the next, you can be sure of premium experience, meaning you can get a model that suits your performance as well as storage capacity needs.

Final Word

Having had some time with the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra, it’s safe to say that it’s more than just a spec sheet on paper, it’s a performance driven machine that feels effortlessly refined. The blazing speed, the immersive display, the ultra fast charging, everything about the device feels well engineered. It lacks wireless charging and zoom versatility, but if you’re looking for flagship power without the flagship price tag, then this might be your next smart move.
