Design & Build Quality
The Motorola Moto G86 is a fantastic device with a combination of fashion and liberty. The Pantone Golden Cypress color, which is an olive-green color, is in our review unit, but other colors we have are Pantene Cosmic Sky, a soft indigo, and Pantene Spellbound, a dark charcoal blue. Its faux leather backside provides a comfortable hold and a high quality feel, and the glossy plastic frame sports a metallic finish that does not give it a cheap look.
The Moto G86 weighs 185 grams, is 161.2 × 74.7 x 7.8 mm, and feels light and well balanced in the hand. Its back cameras are also flat, which helps in the creation of a thin image despite the power battery in the phone.

One of its strengths is durability: the Moto G86 is MIL-STD 810H certified, has Gorilla Glass 7i on the front, and an IP68/IP69 rating of dust and water resistance, which is perfect for users on the go.
The location of the buttons and ports is convenient. On the right side is a responsive volume rocker and power button, and on the left side is a SIM tray with a dedicated memory card slot or microSD slot. It has a USB Type-C port, speaker grille, and microphone on the bottom and an extra microphone and Dolby Atmos branding on the top.
In general, Moto G86 is a stylish, durable and convenient gadget with a combination of high-quality design, robust materials and practical design, which make this device durable and easy to use in everyday life and in harsh environments.
Display
The Motorola Moto G86 is powered by a 6.67-inch P-OLED display that has FHD+ resolution and 446 PPI pixel density to display crisp and rich images. HDR10+ support is an improvement of contrast and color accuracy that makes content such as videos and games appear bright and three-dimensional. The panel is also bright enough to display a peak of 4,500 nits, allowing the screen to be readable even during a sunny day, and making it by far one of the brightest displays in its category.
Live media is silky and pleasant. Up to 2160p60 playback with HDR is supported on YouTube, resulting in high-quality and crisp video experiences. Netflix supports Widevine L1, which supports HD streaming but not HDR content can be played on this platform. Even with this constraint, the rich colors, black hues, and high contrast in the display make viewing movies and accessing media a delight.

The Moto G86 has a colorful and bright display, compared to other models such as the Samsung Galaxy M36 and OPPO K13. The display is visible easily in harsh conditions, and in the field the sunlight is as visible as the OPPO K13, although the maximum brightness of the display is 1,200 nits. Inside, the screen is very clear and provides immersive visuals which improve the overall user experience.
On the audio side, a sound profile is loud and clear, complementing the visual performance of the Moto G86. Stereo speakers have a good bass and clear mids that make it enjoyable to game, watch videos, and talk without using sound devices.
Camera
The Motorola Moto G86 has a dual rear camera configuration that includes a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera. Competitors such as Samsung Galaxy M36 and OPPO K13 have added a third 2MP macro- camera and depth sensor, respectively, but the G86 is aimed at providing powerful performance with three primary and ultrawide cameras. It has a 32MP selfie camera on the front, which is better than the Galaxy M36 and OPPO K13, which have a 13MP and 16MP sensor, respectively.
Daylight Photo:
During the day Moto G86 is good at capturing details. Logos, pavement tiles, foliage look cold and almost lifelike. The G86 does not have the cooler shots like Samsung, but rather retains the natural shadows and highlights, making the images look real and colorful. The contrast is great, and both the sky and shadows are clear. The quality of portraits is also quite good, but the Samsung Galaxy M36 has a bit more accurate edge detection and skin tones.

Low-light Photo:
The Moto G86 has good low-light photography. The phone manages the light flares by keeping the clarity and the visible details even in adverse conditions. Although Samsung renders more precise colors and marginally fewer successes in Night Mode, the G86 still portrays acuity and realism superior to its section. Compared to the main sensor, the ultrawide camera does not perform as well, and its results are darker with strong shadows, and a lower resolution.

Regarding selfies, the 32MP front camera records the correct colors, details of the face, and low-light cases compared to those of its competitors. Both rear and front cameras can support recording videos up to 4K 30fps. The G86 offers good color representation, details in the dark regions, focus and steady shots. Video on the front camera is also very capable, being less noisy and with reasonable dynamic range, allowing subjects to be seen even in low-light scenes.
The camera set up of the Moto G86, in general, works well under most conditions. The daylight shots are meticulous and natural, low-light shots are clear, and the video quality is high. Although the ultrawide lens and some of the portrait colors are a bit weaker when compared to some of its competitors, the primary camera and front camera always provide a competent and fulfilling imaging experience.
Performance & Software
The Moto G86 features the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM with 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, which can be expanded to 1TB by using a microSD card. The chipset, manufactured on 4nm, is a significant upgrade over the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 found in the Moto G85, comprising four Cortex-A78 performance cores with 2.6GHz speeds and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores with 2.0GHz speeds. Paper-wise, it has a better performance than the Exynos 1380 in the Galaxy M36, and the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 in the OPPO K13 is slightly faster benchmark-wise.
The Moto G86, in its everyday life, will offer a seamless experience with little or no lag, allowing you to easily manage multiple tasks, social media, and web browsing. It also supports most users with casual gaming, stable frame rate, and adequate thermal management. However, power users might find more certain performance constraints when using it during heavy gaming or other demanding multitasking than with more expensive options.

It uses a near-stock Android 15 operating system, built with Hello UI additions by Motorola. It also has a sidebar to easily access your favourite apps, three-finger gestures to take screen shots, torch and camera short cuts and the moto Unplugged option of limiting your apps use. Smart connect will enable notifications, file sharing and access to apps on PC, with Moto Secure 3.0 introducing the ability to lock apps and folders. Game Toolkit has in-game access to YouTube, browser, and basic settings.
The experience is supplemented by AI-powered capabilities. AI can amplify voices when recording video, Google photos enables removing objects and blurring backgrounds, and the Circle to Search engine, which runs on Gemini, gives you the ability to identify objects in a video or an image in real time, giving you details about the product, reviews, and links to buy.
Motorola maintains the existence of minimal bloatware as compared to Galaxy M36 and OPPO K13. Its biggest disadvantage is software support with only one guaranteed OS upgrade (to Android 16) and three years of security updates, which can be frustrating to those who want their software to last longer.
AnTuTu Benchmark & GeekBench Score
The Motorola Moto G86 performs respectably within its category, as its benchmark results indicate the ability to do so.
The Moto G86 scored an average of 675,000 points in AnTuTu v10 benchmark, which is higher than the scores of 78% of smartphones between the tests. This score means it performs well in all the aspects of CPU, GPU, memory, and UX, so it can be used in regular activities and medium multitasking.
Moto G86 achieved 1,052 on Geekbench 6 in single-core tests and a score of 2,983 in multi-core tests. These findings indicate that the system provides effective processing capacity in everyday usage and light to moderate multitasking.
Battery & Charger
Motorola Moto G86 also features the huge battery capacity of 5,200mAh that guarantees such a great device lasts long during everyday activities and multimedia consumption. Our PCMark battery test gave the phone a lifespan of 11 hours and 6 minutes, which is better than the Samsung Galaxy M36.
When tested in mixed-usage battery drain tests, with 30 minutes of YouTube streaming, Call of Duty Mobile, Real Racing 3, and BGMI, the Moto G86 was found to be efficient, draining 1.25% less battery than the Galaxy M36 under comparable work loads. It was a little less efficient than the OPPO K13, having 1.5 percent more drain, but provided efficient endurance to a majority of users.
Battery charging is done through the supplied 30W adapter which can fill the battery between 20 percent and 100 percent in about 1 hour and 10 minutes. It can be used daily but it is a bit slower than the Galaxy M36 that can recharge a 5,000mAh battery in 1 hour 6 minutes, and by far slower than the OPPO K13, which can fully recharge its 80W fast charging in 40 minutes.

The Motorola Moto G86 is a proper balance of performance, display quality and durability. Its attractive features are supplemented by the full-blown Android 15 experience featuring handy Moto features and IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD-810H certification that guarantee reliability.
