The box of the Honor X6c was easy to open. I received a phone, a transparent silicone case, a USB-C cable, and a 35W fast charger inside. It also has a SIM ejector pin and a couple of quick start guides. There are no earphones, which is normal nowadays. The case is well fitting and provides simple protection. The charger is fast enough to be used on a daily basis. On the whole, Honor offers everything you need to start without forcing you to purchase additional accessories immediately.

Design & Build Quality

After taking the Honor X6c out of the box, I realized that it is lightweight. It weighs about 199 grams, which means I can scroll or talk without any effort. The back is made of a glossy plastic, and fingerprints don't stick to it as much as some phones do. The finish is solid, and after sliding it in and out of my pocket repeatedly for over two weeks, there is only a small scratch on one corner.

Display

The Honor X6c has a 6.61-inch TFT LCD display. It is spacious when you read long articles or watch videos on YouTube without zooming. I spent an afternoon listening to podcasts with the phone propped up and the screen never felt cramped.

At 120 Hz refresh rate, scrolling through social feeds is more silky than on the usual 60 Hz panels at this price point. Swipes are smooth and animations are just poppy enough to make daily usage a little more luxurious. I also played casual games such as Temple Run and the increased refresh rate made movement look cleaner, but it is not as sharp as mid-range AMOLED screens.

The HD+ resolution 1604 x 720 implies that you can see individual pixels when you look very closely-particularly when reading small fonts or visiting websites that are crowded. The clarity is more than satisfactory on most of the apps and videos. Icons and text are sharp when viewed at normal distance.

I went outside on a sunny day and the 1010 nit peak brightness can prove to be a challenge when under the sunlight. I was forced to cover the upper portion of the screen with my hand in order to read it. Inside or on overcast days, there is a lot of brightness and color is natural, not over-saturated.

The color reproduction is alright to watch shows and scroll through your photo library. Blacks do not go deep as on OLEDs, and the contrast ratio is low, but the whites remain white without the yellow hue. It was enjoyable to watch a short episode on Netflix and eye-care mode assisted me when reading ebooks at night.

Camera

I spent over two weeks taking snapshots and short clips with the Honor X6c. I was impressed with the phone when it recorded good daylight pictures and simple video features. It has two back cameras.

The main sensor is the 50 MP worker. Photos taken in daylight were sharp and detailed enough to post on social media. I aimed the camera at street scenes and close-ups of flowers-colors remained accurate, but very bright areas were somewhat lacking in detail. Autofocus is fast, and it holds on to the subjects virtually within a second. It is fine indoors or at dusk, where noise intrudes and fine details are softened, but it is good at everyday shots.

The QVGA depth sensor does not capture its own photos but blurs the background in portrait mode. I experimented with portraits of friends, and small objects edge detection was still good on hair and glasses, but sometimes obscured part of the subject when there was a lot going on in the background. It is not ideal, but it provides a satisfying bokeh effect that makes portraits stand out on a low-end phone.

The front camera is a 5 MP camera that is basic. The selfies taken in daylight are natural, and the skin tone is not washed out or over-saturated. I took selfies in a dark cafe, pictures turned out soft and noisy, with no details near the eyes and hair. The beauty mode in honor can make the skin too smooth, and I would rather switch it off to have a more natural appearance.

The maximum video resolution is 1080p/30 fps. I filmed a brief street tour and a friend playing a guitar-colors are not distorted, but the video was shaky and without electronic stabilization. Sound is clear when there are no loud voices around but hissing in a more crowded place. The video editing feature in Honor allows you to edit the videos without any issues and add music to them, which is helpful when sharing stories in social apps.

The camera of Honor X6c is excellent in most cases when it is sunny. It puts good effects on selfies and portraits. The phone is a bit struggling when you shoot indoors or make steady video. Nevertheless, it is good enough to take photos, social media, and small videos on a daily basis.

Performance & Software

After two weeks of using the Honor X6c, I found everyday tasks good at its price. Browsing through social media, messaging on WhatsApp, and viewing videos on YouTube were good. Such apps as Huawei Browser, WeChat, and YouTube opened quickly, the process of switching three or four apps simultaneously remained smooth. I occasionally needed to reload some of the apps when I opened around six of them.

The phone is powered by a Mediatek Helio G81 Ultra chipset and 6GB RAM. Light games like Temple run and subway Surfers played well. I did test PUBG Mobile at the lowest graphics option, it worked, but I noticed the frame drops in the middle of the battle. The phone is okay provided you are a casual gamer. It will be felt by the hardcore gamers.

The Honor X6c is slightly behind in comparison with the Redmi 10 (Snapdragon 680) and the Realme C35 (Unisoc T616), which cost the same. Snapdragon 680 performs games and multitasking. The Realme C35 has a Unisoc chip that performs better when it comes to background applications. Nevertheless, the Honor X6c has a longer battery life than them, it went through a day and a half during regular use.

It is powered by Magic UI 9.0 based on Android 15 It has an in-built feature like Dark Mode, Game Space, and App Twin. Its interface is simple and straightforward, yet it also includes a couple of Honor apps that are aggressive with in-app offers. Security patches come after three or four months, which is good enough on a budget phone, but not the best.

The Honor X6c is an excellent option when you only want to make calls, send messages, and stream, and long battery life is a priority. Phones with Snapdragon chips are your better option when you want to play games faster, or when you want 5G or routine software updates.

I have had actual time with the Honor X6c and this is what I observed during my experience. On AnTuTu benchmark10, the X6c has a score of about 2,29,744 with sub-scores such as CPU 71,397, GPU 33,206, memory 53,631 and UX 71,510.

It scores around 430 on the single-core and 1,394 on the multi-core of GeekBench 6. That makes it superior to about 60 percent of phones- it can run daily applications without any problem but may stutter under intense use of games or multitasking.

The Honor X7c (released October 18, 2024) has a better performance than competitors with approximately 353K AnTuTu and a better GeekBench single-core (474) .

The X6c is fine when using it as a daily driver and social media, but it struggles with high-intensity processing and gaming relative to its contemporaries, such as the X7c. It also has slower eMMC storage, so app load times are slower when used more intensively.

Battery & Charger

I tested the Honor X6c in a day of real life usage- calls, browsing, videos, and messaging. This is my personal opinion about its Battery & Charger.

This phone has a 5,300 mAh Li-Po battery, and in my test it easily got through more than a day of moderate to heavy usage- browsing, social media, and video playback were smooth without requiring a midday charge. The provided 35W rapid charger takes only 20 minutes to charge up to about 30%, which was a life-saver when I was short of time. Even two full days on one charge is realistic to light users.

The battery is a bit bigger than in other phones in the budget segment, such as the Honor X7c or Redmi A-series, and its fast charging is also faster. Most budget competitors remain at 5,000 mAh batteries and 18W fast charging.

With that said, the phone does not have wireless or reverse charging. Consequently, there is no possibility of power-sharing or cable-free top-ups, which may limit flexibility if you carry multiple gadgets.

The Honor X6c is a great choice if long battery life and fast charging are a priority to you, particularly in a low-cost phone. It's solid and trustworthy, however the absence of wireless capabilities is somewhat of a drawback.

The price is one of the greatest reasons why I picked the HONOR X6c. The HONOR X6c price in Bangladesh is BDT 14,999 for 6GB of RAM and 128GB of phone storage. It is a good value considering the price and is an excellent choice for a student or anyone who wants a simple, modern smartphone without having to spend too much.

It comes in three shades Midnight Black, Ocean Cyan, Moonlight White- I prefer Ocean Cyan as it has a good premium feel. In general, the HONOR X6c is a decent device at a reasonable cost.
