Very Good!
Motorola One Power is especially released for mid-range consumers looking for a durable body phone with superior battery setup. Let us explore this smartphone in this brief analysis.
Motorola One Power is coming with a huge 6.2” Full HD+ extra long notch display similar to iPhone X. The display quality is great and it is protected by a third generation Gorilla Glass. The back side is made of glass and the body is water-repellent which means it can stand splashes, light-rain etc. The design doesn’t look anything extraordinary. It is more of a functional style. The Motorola logo in the back fingerprint looks cool though. Overall, decent design with a great display and solid body.
Now comes the 5000 mAh battery. It means about two days backup for a regular modern day user. It also comes with a USB-C Turbocharging. A full charge may take about two hours and fifteen minutes which is excellent considering the big battery. You may get about 50% charge in 45 minutes of charging which is enough for a day of usage. So, it is pretty comforting in terms of battery performance.
Day to day usage, multitasking, playing games etc. should be pretty smooth with the 14 nm Snapdragon 636 chipset and 4 GB RAM. You are also getting clean Stock Android with Android Pie update. Motorola has promised the next Android Q update as well. So, speed, software optimization, security are very satisfactory as well.
The daylight front and back camera shots look pretty clear and natural. Portrait mode, focus, dynamic range, details are well-balanced. We have also got a good amount of light in the dark which isn’t the case of many mid-range to the high-mid range or even premium phones. So, Motorola One Power is getting a big appreciation for that. However, low-light photos have a bit too much noise and sometimes a little blurry if your hand shakes slightly. We found better low-light camera in Xiaomi Mi A2. Daylight shots of Nokia 6.1 provides more natural colors, skin tone and sharpness as well. But Motorola One is the winner in night shots and video recording under the streetlight. There is also UHD video rec. option but without any stabilization. Overall, it is offering a balanced authentic camera considering different important aspects.
The phone doesn’t come with a face unlock feature, there are no navigation gestures and the fingerprint scanner takes a second to respond which are some of the disadvantages. But Motorola is to make the fingerprint scanner more responsive with the next software update according to an announcement. We have got 64 GB ROM with about 52 GB of free available space and there is a dedicated MicroSD card slot. So, memory won’t be an issue. Sound quality is pretty good too. There is OTG support and front LED notification light. Overall, it a durable, well-balanced release from Motorola with a solid build and outstanding battery setup.
