LG is the short form of “Lucky Goldstar,” but because of their tagline “Life’s good,” some may mistake it to be the meaning of LG. It is a South Korean company which is very well known all over the world for producing extraordinary, high-quality gadgets and electronics. It includes TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and so on. Because of the demand, they have also decided to enter the smartphone market. Their reputation for producing consumer electronics paid off, and they gained quick success in the global smartphone market.
History of the Company
The South Korean multinational company Lucky-GoldStar corporation was named LG in 1995 to get a better stand in the western market. They got the domain LG.com in the year 2009. The popularity of LG smartphones
Till mid-2012, LG was the second largest smartphone brands in the US* (Wikipedia). After this time, Apple came in the second position. After one year in mid-2013, LG went down to fifth place. In mid-2017, LG shipped 13.3 million smartphones worldwide which made them the seventh most popular smartphone brands in the world* (Gadgetsnow). Above them were Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi. The sales of LG smartphones kept declining as Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Huawei and Oppo were getting more and more strong in the global market because of their low pricing and fine build quality. At the beginning of 2019, LG declared loss from their smartphone department in 2018 but they decided to continue manufacturing smartphones and introduce more advanced technology.

LG in Bangladesh
LG surely belongs to one of the most reliable smartphone brands in Bangladesh. However, the rising popularity of other brands placed LG quite behind regarding sales. One reason why LG couldn't make its place among the most popular brands is its pricing. The production and operational cost of LG are much higher than many other brands in BD. It is because the headquarter of LG is in Seoul, South Korea where the cost is much higher than in China. They also didn't establish any assembling factory here to cut taxes and production cost. LG does offer better quality and more professional service than many popular brands. But the vast majority are much more concerned about the pricing than the little details of quality even when it comes to a leading brand. If LG can consider these facts, we hope that they still have a solid chance to generate a good amount of sales in this country.
