Google is the company that developed the hugely influential Android operating system. Although Google is mostly known for their operating system, they are also involved in smartphone manufacturing business. In the year 2016, they introduced two smartphones under their brand name for the first time. These smartphones are Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL. But this was not the first time they have produced a smartphone. Previously, Google released smartphones together with Motorola, LG, and Huawei. The models were named as "Nexus" such as LG Nexus 5, Huawei Nexus 6P, Motorola Nexus 6, etc. But now, Google has their independent smartphone department. Another thing is that Google has developed high-quality virtual reality glass named "Daydream." It also supports the Google Pixel phones. So, this combined concept became a fit for many tech-savvy. VR is also not a new project for Google. Primarily, they launched cheap cardboard VR glass which was also of fine quality comparing the price. But Pixel series with their impressive front and back camera, as well as daydream compatibility, became a special choice for premium android users. Usually, Google phones are always released with the latest Android version. They are usually the first devices to have the new version as Google themselves are the developer of this OS. In 2017, Google introduced the follow-up versions of Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL. These were named Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Pixel 2 XL had arguably the best smartphone camera in 2017 and was mentioned as one of the top 3 smartphones of the year in almost all major tech news portals and magazines.
The earlier Nexus models were highly admired in Bangladesh among the tech-conscious young generation. But because of the pricing, it couldn't win many consumers as the major demand in Bangladesh is for low and low-mid range smartphones. Same happened with the newer Pixel phones. Only the minor financially rich customer group could afford it. But most of the financially rich are from the older generation who would choose the prestigious Samsung flagship phones with personalized and dedicated service over the techy Pixel phones with guaranteed software updates and the best camera. So, only a very few financially capable tech youngsters are considering the Pixel Phones.
