Foldable Smartphones
Fordable phones are a relatively new concept. The first commercial foldable was developed by a Chinese brand called Royole named Royole Flexpai released in November 2018. Here we are talking about modern, tablet-like foldable smartphones. After that, we saw the Huawei Mate X and Samsung Galaxy Fold which became more popular in that category of phones. Since then, a niche market has been created for this kind of gadget.
Samsung is Still leading the foldable phone market. Other brands like Huawei (as we mentioned earlier), Xiaomi, and even Google released foldable smartphones.
These phones are generally very pricey mainly because it’s as if you can carry a tablet computer in your pocket. When unfolded they usually have between 7 to 8 inches display.
Flip Phones
We saw a lot of flip phones back in the time of feature phones. Here we are dealing with modern flip smartphones with a proper Operating System. Android Flip phones are the most popular as of now in that sense and Samsung is leading the Flip smartphone market.
These are more compact, and more stylish but typically offer very powerful flagship-type performance, fine-quality cameras and so on. It’s their main selling point. It doesn’t offer the practical big-screen advantage of horizontal foldable phones. It’s vertical and fits in a small pocket comfortably.
