Today is the 24th of September and on the 21st of September Xiaomi released three smartphones from the new Redmi Note 13 series namely Redmi Note 13, Note 13 Pro and Note 13 Pro+. All of these phones support 5G. We wanted to see some hands-on reviews and impressions before we write something about this pristine and front-line smartphone series from Xiaomi. We converted the price from Chinese Yuan to Bangladeshi Taka and the price is then (approximately) the following:
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G
৳16,500 6/128 GB (CNY 1,099)
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G
৳21,000 8/128 GB (CNY 1,399)
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+
৳30,000 12/256 GB (CNY 1,999)
৳34,500 16/512 GB (CNY 2,299)
Now that we have seen some of the user impressions let us tell you about what we find interesting. But before that, you should know that these smartphones are released only in China. The Global version can look and can come with different features as we saw in some of the previous Redmi Note series phones. But it can also be the same or with very little difference.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G
There can be a 4G version of this model for some of the markets where 5G isn’t that popular, available or has very low coverage. However, we doubt it this time as 5G should be the default network for the future and take over 4G. This is the right time to switch especially when the pricing or features are around this or higher.
This is a more flat-looking boxy phone but we sure see some improvement in design compared to the Note 10, 11 or 12 series. It looks a bit more contemporary and more up-to-date and we appreciate it. The body, however, looks like made of plastic. There is Gorilla Glass 5 screen protection and dust/splashproof body. You’ll get a 120Hz refresh rate, 1000 nits peak brightness and a 6.67″ Full HD+ AMOLED display panel.
The camera is improved to a 100 MP one with a 2 MP depth sensor on the back and on the front side there is a 16 MP camera. Both can record maximum Full HD videos and there is no improvement there in the specs sheet. We don’t see it as a camera phone, to be honest. The battery and charging remain the same and the typical 5000 mAh with 33W. A new kind of MediaTek Dimensity 6080 (6 nm) chipset is powering the device, a decent 5G chipset for gaming for the cost. And this is probably the big improvement in this gadget.
Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G
The Pro model is significantly better than the regular model. We can see a glass back panel and also some kind of color-shifting texture in the white model. It looks and feels more premium. It comes with a higher resolution QHD+ display with 68B colors, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and 1800 nits max. brightness.
The back camera is a 200 MP one here with Multi-directional PDAF, OIS and supports fine quality 4K recording. You’ll get an 8 MP ultrawide lens and a 2 MP macro camera. The front camera remains 16 MP with 1080p@30/60fps. There is a 67W fast charger (0-100% in 44 min). In the chipset section, we are getting a 4 nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset with Adreno 710 GPU which supports fine gaming. The fingerprint sensor is in-display.
Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G
This is the most focused device among these three. There is a smooth leather back texture on the white color. There are two other colors with a glass back and a special Camo Green Edition. The display is curved and looks premium, flagship-like. It’s also a waterproof phone with Gorilla Glass Victus screen protection.
The charger is upgraded to 120W which takes only 19 minutes to fully charge. A 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset is used that is powerful for gaming and frequent day-to-day performance. This is the best model in terms of pricing and the features look great too.
