Xiaomi Redmi K60 Ultra teaser

Xiaomi Redmi K60 Ultra can be found in the unofficial Bangladeshi smartphone market for BDT 52,990 (12/256 GB) and BDT 56,490 (16/256 GB). The price usually goes down as time passes by. It should be about BDT 50,000 in the upcoming weeks, but even right now, it’s not far from it.

When you are willing to invest 50K from your pocket and want the best gaming phone possible, we have asked ourself if this Redmi K60 Ultra from Xiaomi is the best choice out there at the end of 2023 to early 2024 and ahead. For gaming performance, you’d mainly look at the chipset and then the RAM, display size, quality and so on. And then of course the Android version and further updates so the gadget remains up to date and secure for long-term as well as supports the latest HD games.

Chipset and RAM

The chipset used here is a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ (4 nm). If you check out the Nanoreview mobile phone chipset ranking on November 1st (the ranking changes with time when new chipsets are available), you’ll see the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ is in the 3rd position. It is right after the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Apple A17 Pro. It has a gaming performance score of 99, a CPU score of 96 and battery life score of 93 out of 100. This is top-grade and will probably remain at least in the top 10 chipsets in year 2024 and maybe till late 2025. There are 12 GB RAM to start with up to 24 GB, but 12 GB should be sufficient.

Android Version and Upgrades

We have Android 13, Android 14 was just released in October. This device is supposed to get an upgrade till Android 17 and five years of security patches, which is a proper standard for a phone of this budget right now. If gaming is your major focus and 50,000 Taka is your maximum budget, we have checked around and there is no smartphone right now that can beat this one.

Battery, Display and Camera

Apart from that, the 120W charger takes about 20 minutes to fully charge the 5000 mAh battery, which can provide one to one and a half day backup for regular users. The display is a 6.67”” QHD+ OLED with 144Hz refresh rate, 68 billion colors, HDR10+ and 2600 nits peak brightness which is stunning. Even the camera quality is wonderful and we have seen plenty of samples from hands-on video reviews, which you can check on YouTube. The dedicated night mode was superb as well, which is not the case for lower-priced full-on gaming phones.

Build Quality and Others

If you are concerned about the build quality, it has a Xiaomi damage resistant glass on the front and a waterproof body. You’ll hardly ever find a waterproof body smartphone with this configuration at this price. Xiaomi Redmi K60 Ultra is a true champ and well-recommended for gamers. If you want to know about the disadvantages, its design is a bit flat and we also don’t have any kind of gamer specific design. It’s just a practical performance device.
