Samsung’s new Galaxy S20 FE arrived in the Bangladeshi market. The device is a lower-priced alternative to the premium Galaxy S20, S20+ or S20 Ultra. The device is priced at ৳64,999 whereas Galaxy S20+ costs ৳99,999 and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra has a price tag of ৳129,999 in the official Bangladeshi market.
There is a saying in Bengali that “a cheap thing has three conditions”. It means that if it’s cheaper than usual, you may find a few compromises in the product. Ironically, we have three major compromises in Galaxy S20 FE compared to the premium flagship Galaxy S20 + and S20 Ultra. The first one is its build quality. We have a plastic back with no gorilla glass protection on the front. This is one of the biggest drawbacks of the phone in general since for a ৳64,999 price tag, we can very well expect a phone with Gorilla Glass protection on front and back.
The second compromise is in its display. We have a Full HD+ Super AMOLED display here whereas the other S20 series phones come with a higher Quad HD+ resolution and a much better dynamic AMOLED 2X screen technology.
And lastly, the camera quality is quite reduced here as well. You will have overall lower quality photos compared to the other available S20 series phones but the quality is still fine considering the budget. There is also no 8K video recording option here (only up to 4K).
Fortunately, Samsung kept its flagship performance on this phone with the same 7nm+ Exynos 990 chipset. We also have a similar battery as the Galaxy S20+. However, there is no Samsung DeX support which can be disappointing for some users who prefer the Samsung Desktop experience feature. Altogether, Galaxy S20 FE is still a decent flagship alternative despite its disadvantages.
