Oppo A78 teaser

Oppo Bangladesh brings its new release Oppo A78 for Bangladeshi consumers. The phone is priced at ৳27,990 for its 8/256 GB model.

The design of the phone looks pretty nice. The body is made of plastic but it still looks quite premium, especially the back panel. It doesn’t attract fingerprints which is much appreciated. There is a left punch-hole display on the front with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It also has IP54 dust and splash resistance. The device is only 7.9 mm thin. Overall, it gets a good mark when it comes to design and build.

The display is a 6.43 inches Full HD+ AMOLED one with a 90Hz refresh rate. It also looks excellent in terms of its display quality. The brightness is only 430 nits which is a bit of a drawback. But under sunlight usage is still quite decent.

There is a 50 MP main back camera with a 2 MP additional depth sensor. There is no ultrawide lens. The camera quality is average considering its price. You’ll see soft tones and lack of details. The same goes for the 8 MP front camera. These are very good cameras if the price was under 20K. But for this cost, it could be better. This significantly reduces the value for money and overall rating of the phone. However, there is stabilization in the back camera if you record at 720p HD resolution. Also, the 8 MP front camera gives better picture than lower budget 8 MP cameras. So, these are some advantages.

One of the main features of this device is its 67W SuperVOOC fast charging which can charge the phone from 0-100% in just about 45 minutes. There is Oppo ColorOS 13.1 on top of Android 13. We are getting a decent Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G (6 nm) chipset with 8 GB RAM. But it is still low performance considering the mid-range price and this is not a gaming phone by any means. There are phones with Helio G99 chipset from MediaTek at a lower price which will provide you far superior performance. The Snapdragon 680 chipset on the other hand provides longer battery backup and less heating. It’s an optimized and stable chipset.

Oppo A78 comes with 256 GB UFS 2.2 internal storage which is another fine advantage. It has dual stereo speakers which offer very good sound quality. There is also a fast in-display fingerprint sensor. Overall the Oppo A78 is coming with some impressive features. But it remains far behind in two very important sectors which are its cameras and performance.
