Infinix Smart 8 was announced yesterday on 9th November in Nigeria and is already for sale at 82,000 Nigerian Naira (about BDT 11,300). Just after one day on 10th November 2023, Infinix confirmed via a social media post that the Smart 8 model will arrive in the Bangladesh market in the upcoming days as well.
The Smart 7 and the Smart 6 series have been quite successful among the lower budget shoppers. Now the new one is coming with some delightful and swank features.
There is a 90Hz refresh rate supported HD+ screen with a so-called “Magic Ring” feature that is, in essence, an interactive punch-hole area similar to the dynamic Island feature in the latest Apple iPhones. It is used to check charging status, call alerts and so on. Not just that, there is a Ring-LED flash in the back side, which is a very popular feature right now. Infinix did a great job to add these small but useful and popular features to a low-cost smartphone like this.
The design altogether looks pretty. We have a 6.6 inches IPS LCD screen with 90% screen-to-body ratio. The 500 nits peak brightness may not perform best under sunlight, but you can’t really demand better around this total. We are getting Android 13 with an Unisoc T606 chipset and 4 GB RAM. In addition to that, there are up to 4 GB virtual RAM options. The storage capacity is 128 GB and a dedicated MicroSD slot facility is added for further storage expansion.
The primary camera is 13 MP with a 0.3 MP depth sensor. The punch-hole houses an 8 MP lens. Both can record 1080p videos. A big 5000 mAh battery is included and a USB Type-C port, but the charger remains the standard 10 watt. There is 200% high volume with DTS processing for delivering better audio output. The gadget comes in a few pleasant colors; Timber Black, Shiny Gold, Crystal Green and Galaxy White.
