Honor 90 teaser new

Honor 90 was officially introduced in Bangladesh today via an event by Smart Technologies Ltd. who’s the official authorized reseller of Honor brand products in the country. There is one single 12/512 GB model available at the moment, which is priced at ৳57,999. The pre-booking starts from 23rd of October where the device will be available at ৳1,000 discount for ৳56,999. It will be available on stores from 1st of November 2023.

The Price Factor

The first notable thing is that the phone is priced reasonably if we have a look at the global market and also the unofficial Bangladeshi market. In Europe, it is available right now for €499, which is roughly ৳57,900. So, this is the exact same price as the European price. You may argue that the price in Asia or for the Asian models is usually lower, and it is right for many brands, but not all. We are talking about a Chinese brand here and yes, the Chinese brand prices are usually lower in Asia than in Europe. But we also have to consider that the brand doesn’t have any assembling factory in Bangladesh, so they have to pay a huge amount of import tax and then still being able to hold the horse of the price; we do give credit to Honor, especially when we look at some other brands and also the price in the unofficial market.

Honor 90 Features

The phone comes with a very exquisite and premium design with curved display and a glass back with a frosted finish. There are four different colors in the global model but only the Midnight Black and Diamond Silver will be available in Bangladesh for now. It is a very tasteful, elegant, individualistic and professional-looking design. There is no official display protection such as Gorilla Glass or an IP Rating for splash resistant which is perhaps the biggest drawback of this premium gadget. It is just 7.8mm slim.

Honor 90 display

The 6.7-inch display is of QHD+ quality with AMOLED technology and has HDR10+ and 1600 nits peak brightness. Again, another absolutely wonderful feature and we have seen hands-on video reviews of this phone. The colors looked very accurate and eye-pleasing, with an immersive view. It also comes with a Five-Fold eye protection feature. The display has a very high rank in popular review site DxOMark. As of October 15, 2023, it has 19th position in their global display ranking.

Honor 90 camera

Both the 50MP front and 200MP main rear cameras have 4K recording with stabilization and great photo capturing ability. The camera should be pleasing to the users. The front camera is 100º ultrawide and on the back the 8MP shooter is an ultrawide lens too.

Honor 90 battery

There is 66W Honor SuperCharge charging technology with 5W reverse charging and the battery is 5000 mAh. It can charge from 0-20% in about 5 minutes. Yes, the charger should be in the box as well.

Snapdragon 7 gen 1 accelerated edition

The phone is running on Android version 13 out of the box and we did some research and found out that it should get upgraded till Android 15 with 3 years of security update from its initial release date, which was June 7, 2023. However, it can be different for the Bangladesh model, but it could very well be the same. Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 has a Nanoreview gaming score of 49 out of 100 (as of October 15, 2013) which is pretty decent for the price. The chipset is also known to provide good battery life. There is also a so-called All-zone Cooling Drive System to prevent the phone from heating up.

Some other features are a fast and accurate in-display fingerprint sensor, noise cancellation microphone, 5G support, NFC, USB Type-C and so on. It doesn’t have a 3.5mm jack, MicroSD slot and the proximity sensor is virtual, which are some of its other drawbacks.
