Oppo A78 Advantages
Oppo A78 comes with a slightly more unique, catchy and stylish design. Xiaomi’s design looks also good but it doesn’t look new. We have seen this kind of design in previous Xiaomi phones too. Oppo wins for us when it comes to design. The build quality is also slightly stronger with a 5th gen. Gorilla Glass and IP54 certified splash resistance.
Oppo is offering a 67W super fast charger that can charge the phone from 0-100% in just about 45 minutes whereas Xiaomi will take about one hour and 11 minutes. Oppo has a larger 256 GB internal storage and a more advanced in-display fingerprint sensor.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Advantages
Firstly, the price is way cheaper so, it’s a big win for Xiaomi. Xiaomi is also offering a faster 120Hz refresh rate display and a higher 1200 nits max. brightness for a much better under-sunlight viewing experience. Both front and back cameras are better in Xiaomi with an added 8 MP ultrawide lens on the back and a 13 MP higher resolution front camera.
We have a slightly faster Snapdragon 685 chipset and MIUI 14 is very optimized for it so, generally, users will have a smoother performance. The audio quality is also better.
The Winner
Overall, Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 wins big time in almost all important aspects of the phone. However, if you want a more unique and stylish design with balanced specs and the higher price isn’t that much of an issue for you, the Oppo A78 is a considerable option as well.
