A popular performance and chipset comparison website Nanoreview has published its September update in chipset ranking and we can see that the new 3 nm A17 Pro chipset used in both the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max and the 15 Pro have taken the number one spot in their list of chipsets. Apple has already mentioned it in its release event.
The A17 Pro chipset gets a score of 99 (A+) and with a score of 97, MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus takes the second spot. Last year’s Apple A16 Bionic chipset is in the third position with an overall score of 97 as well. Let’s have a quick look at their AnTuTu 10 and Geekbench 6 benchmark scores:
Dimensity 9200 Plus
|Geekbench 6||2976 / 7449||2110 / 5540||2631 / 6863|
What does it mean for any day-to-day user? The A17 Pro chipset enables game developers to enter a new dimension of mobile gaming where now they can release games for smartphones which was previously possible only for game consoles. Games like Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 and, and a few other popular console games will now have mobile versions with stunning graphics and details. Of course, other graphics-intensive work related to photography, photo editing and so on will be much smoother as well.
