It didn't take too long for Meizu to become one of the top 10 smartphone manufacturers in China. In the first six months of 2015, they sold 8.9 million smartphones worldwide (Wikipedia). By the end of 2015, their sales reached 20 million units which made them the 11th largest smartphone manufacturers in the world in 2015. After that, they focused on gaining customers in more countries around the globe. As a consequence, end of July 2016, Meizu officially introduced their phones in Bangladeshi market. Their first authorized dealer in Bangladesh is SQ Group.
Chinese phones had a bad reputation among the Bangladeshi smartphone consumers as many Chinese companies were producing and supplying low-quality duplicate smartphones in the early days of smartphone history. It also affected worldwide successful and favored brands like Xiaomi in its early days. When people heard that Meizu is a Chinese brand, many perceive them as a duplicate bad quality phone producer. It was a challenge for Meizu in Bangladesh. Although Chinese brand like Huawei gained quick popularity with their highly professional service and elegant marketing campaigns combined with technically superior, durable, price-worthy phones. Xiaomi and Oppo followed up quickly as well. But Meizu didn't take further steps to build up their presence in Bangladeshi market since their first launch. So, they couldn't make any name so far in this growing southeast Asian market. Their phones are overall of good quality and reasonably priced. Now, they only need to build authentic service and presence.
