Maxis Mobile is a European company that wants to grow their business in emerging markets around the world. Emergency market typically means economically developing countries where the demand for a specific product is very high but the competition is low. Needless to say that Bangladesh, a very high potential smartphone market is one of them as mobile internet growth rate in here is one of the highest among all the developing countries in the world.
The tagline of Maxis Mobile is "Anytime, Anywhere" which represents their vision of expanding their business worldwide. However, so far the company has not been very active in Bangladeshi market thus still couldn't make any big impression. They have released very few amount of devices and haven't done any remarkable marketing event or campaign. So far, their main focus has been the low budget consumer group as the demand there is highest in this area (2,000 to 10,000 Tk.). But since the last two years the competition became huge to get this low budget customer group and now Bangladesh has become a very challenging market for mobile phone companies. Brands like Symphony, Walton, Micromax, Maximus, Lava etc. already made their stronghold; trusted and known by the locals. Then lately Microsoft, Samsung, Huawei etc. reliable brands also released low price phones which made it even more difficult for phone producing startups to come to Bangladesh. In the year 2015, Intex and Goldberg has been able to make some good impression but the investment has also been quite huge for them. Now it will be interesting to see if Maxis can give a hard fight to them by bringing any surprising gadget with cool features as well as start publicizing their products more in the upcoming months.
They have produced feature phones, smartphones as well as tabs that are few in number.
Although they haven't produced or sold a lot of units, they have expanded their authorized dealers to all over the country. Also they have service center and customer care in almost all districts.
