The first generation 4G network was launched in Oslo, Norway back in 2009. It is highly arguable if one should call that 4G from a purely technical point of view. To make a long story short, 4G back then was not much faster than 3G, and it was more of a commercial update or campaign. However, by the year 2011-2012, 4G advanced (LTE) was hitting almost all around the globe. 4G came in April 2012 in India. By the year 2013, 4G became a regular thing around the world.
However, the people of Bangladesh didn’t receive 4G by 2013. Not even by 2015 or also in 2017! It is arriving in 2018. There are both good and bad effects of the internet from a social or spiritual perspective. Therefore, one can’t say it is unfortunate that 4G is coming so late in Bangladesh. But the objective fact is that it is coming to Bangladesh 6 years after the neighboring country India had it. But it is happening, and the people of Bangladesh should now have a much faster internet experience which almost all part of the world is having for half a decade. The question remains, is it going to be fortunate or unfortunate? Well, it is us who will decide.
